"Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion's War" Announced: December 18th, 2006

Square Enix has announced it will release an updated port of the popular PlayStation title, "Final Fantasy Tactics", on the PlayStation Portable. This new port will include new anime cut scenes and new character classes. The original music was done by Mr. Hitoshi Sakimoto and Mr. Masaharu Iwata, and no information has been released yet regarding if there will be new compositions or arrangements. "Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion's War" has not yet received a release date, however it will be available within the new year.

The discography page was updated. Added was the recently released "Digimon Savers: Another Mission", which Mr. Iwata worked on, with Basiscape partners Mr. Hitoshi Sakimoto and Mr. Manabu Namiki. "Digimon Savers: Another Mission" was developed and published by Bandai Namco and released on November 30th of this year.

Mr. Iwata to contribute to Pink Sweets Ibara Original Soundtrack: November 1st, 2006

Mr. Iwata will contribute a bonus arrangement to the upcoming soundtrack of one of Cave's latest games, "Pink Sweets Ibara". The album, titled "Pink Sweets Ibara Original Soundtrack" had been delayed from its original release date (on the 20th of November) in order to produce a bonus arrangement disc, which, other than Mr. Iwata, stars guest arrangers Yuzo Koshiro, Ayako Saso, Shinji Hosoe and Saitama Saishu Heiki (S.S.H). Mr. Iwata's Basiscape work partners Mitsuhiro Kaneda and Kimihiro Abe will also contribute arrangements to the disc. "Pink Sweets Ibara Original Soundtrack" will be available to purchase on the 24th of December for 3,570 Yen, published by Cave under the catalogue number CVST-0005.

Final Fantasy XII Original Soundtrack Piano Score Announced: September 18th, 2006

Doremi has announced the original piano sheet music score to Square Enix's vastly popular Final Fantasy XII. The score, dominantly built from Mr. Sakimoto's original compositions, will feature Mr. Iwata's track "The Sochen Cave Palace" along with several other compositions by Mr. Matsuo, all exclusively arranged for piano. The arranger, however, has yet to be announced. The Final Fantasy XII Original Soundtrack Piano Score hasn't been given a release date, but is expected to be released at the end of the year.

Final Fantasy XII Original Soundtrack Released!

An exciting day for all Final Fantasy XII fans. The long awaited Original Soundtrack was released today in Japanese stores. Mr. Iwata composed two tracks in the Hitoshi Sakimoto dominant score. He composed "The Sochen Cave Palace" and "The Feywood" which are both located on the last two discs of the soundtrack. The Final Fantasy XII Original Soundtrack can be ordered from VGMWorld.com and is expected to ship in the next couple of days.

"Seiken Densetsu DS: Children of Mana" Music Released!

iTunes and Square Enix Japan have teamed up and produced the anticipated score for one of the latest installments of the Seiken Densetsu saga, Seiken Densetsu DS: Children of Mana, released on March 2nd earlier this year. Mr. Iwata was one of the 3 composers (others including Kenji Ito and Takayuki Aihara) and created a total of 9 tracks for the game.
